Joed, sumuko agad sa pulitika
Final na ang desisyon ni Joed Serrano, producer-actor, not to pursue his decision to run for the Senate election next year.
Although, nai-file na raw niya ang kanyang certificate, need, at least, P800M, yes, that big an amount, for him to be able to join the Senatorial race.
A Bicolano, Joed would have wanted to push for the rights of the LGBTQ community, if he wins.
Joed says he never makes secret his sexuality.
Winwyn, doble ang natanggap na christmas gift
Speaking of Christmas gifts, as it’s only a matter of days before Christmas, happier than thou si Winwyn Marquez, as she already, she says, received two wonderful gifts.
First of all is, of course, her movie Nelia, where she plays the title role and is an entry in the Metro Manila Filmfest, set to start on Christmas day, no less.
And finally, na-admit na rin niya that she’s pregnant, yes, at 29.
Wala sa showbiz ang ama ng kanyang dinadala.
Ganunpaman daw, tunay na maipagmamalaki niya ang mga aktor na kasama niya sa Nelia, kabilang na sina Raymond Bagatsing, Mon Confiado at Lloyd Samartino.
Sa direksyon ni Lester Dimaranan ang Nelia.
Last appearance ni Winwyn before Nelia was Owe My Love, where she played kontrabida. Lead performers of Owe My Love were Lovi Poe and Benjamin Alves. Also featured were AiAi delas Alas, plus the late Mahal.
She was, at first, according to Winwyn reluctant to do Nelia. Not because she was already pregnant then, but because, for a change, bida nga siya, at siya pa ang title role.
But as her mother, former popular sexpot Alma Moreno, said, not every former kontrabida is given the chance na maging bida at title role pa.
Others, no doubt, would grab the offer. Which, in the end, Winwyn said, is what she finally did.
No need to tell you that Winwyn’s dad is former politician cum comedian Joey Marquez.
Both her parents promised to watch the movie with her, once it’s shown in the theaters nationwide.
The MMFF is from Dec. 25 to Jan. 7. There will be an awards night.
