Nagkaroon na ng meeting si MTRCB (The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) Chairwoman Rachel Arenas sa mga ilang namamahala sa movies na may streaming sa digital platform.
May clamor din kasing bigyan nila ito ng rating gaya ng ginagawa ng MTRCB sa local TV shows and movies.
“We’re formulating the guidelines already for that kasi it’s hard eh.
“You know, we attended a conference abroad. They have the same problem as ours. Akala ko, my gosh, tayo lang ang may problemang ganito. Hindi.
“Even fake news, we’ve discussed in the conference abroad. It’s their problem all over. All over.
“Kasi the conference people who attended were from US, Korea and Taiwan. They have the same problem,” pahayag ni Chairwoman Rachel sa lunch niya with the entertainment press.
“We called the players like Netflix, iWant, Disney. Sabi ko, magpakita kayo ng goodwill. Register with us first and then we’ll formulate guidelines for you to follow.
“Hindi naman namin kayo pahihirapan!” saad pa ni Arenas.
Nakipag-meeting na raw sila sa ilang agencies bago matapos ang taon.
“Kasi maraming agencies ‘yan like NTC. They will also pay taxes. Dapat may one policy na hindi puwedeng meron kami at iba sa kanila, ‘di ba?” sabi pa ni Chairwoman Rachel.
Bukod sa isyung ito, tuluy-tuloy din ang MTRCB sa adbokasiya nitong Matalinong Panonood. Naglilibot sila sa iba’t ibang lugar sa probinsiya, nakikipag-usap sa barangay officials upang palaganapin ang matalinong panonood.
