Is Xian Lim the next big star na ginu-groom ng ABS-CBN, not to say, Star Cinema, among their male contract talents?

Well, from the way it looks, Salve A. he is.

Kaya, take a bow, Xian?

Si Xian ang napiling ipalit kay John Lloyd Cruz, one of Kapamilya’s most important leading man, in Bridges, co-starring him with Jericho Rosales at Maja Salvador.

Did we hear it right na siya rin ang kino-consider to join Batangas Governor Vilma Santos, otherwise known, too, as the Star for All Seasons, and Angel Locsin in the duo’s first important project together with Star Cinema, which reportedly Rory Quintos will direct.

No need to tell you that Xian is again playing leading man to Kim Chiu in the upcoming Star Cinema movie, Past Tense, which stars, too, AiAi delas Alas. Introducing naman ang pinakabagong champ ng PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) All In, si Daniel Matsunaga.

Directing Past Tense is newly married lady director, Mar Cruz-Alviar.

It obviously pays when wala kang angal even if you are just taken as a replacement for another leading man in a TV or movie project.

Which, according to Xian, ay waring nagiging ‘‘trending’’ sa kanya. After all, if one recalls, replacement siya ni Jolo Revilla, now Cavite Vice Governor, when he (Jolo) had to abruptly cut short his stint in the series Binondo Girl as Kim’s leading man, yes, for political reason.

In that series, we all remember, of course, na-discover si Richard Yap, now one leading man of the hour.

Xian admits na he didn’t mind either when he was tasked to play leading man to Kim, yes, sa dalawang magkasunod na pelikula, Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo? And Bride for Rent, na parehong blockbusters, nang biglaang nabuwag ang successful team-up nina Kim at Gerald Anderson.

And now heto ngang pagiging replacement niya to no less than Lloydie, whom Xian admits he idolizes as an actor, in Bridges.

Of Past Tense, he looks forward to the release of the movie on November 26.

‘‘Di ba kasabihang they come in threes,’’ ani Xian. ‘‘Well, Kim and I already have two blockbuster movies to our name (Bakit Nga Ba Hindi Ka Crush… and Bride for Rent). Well, I hope and pray, we have a third winner in Past Tense.’’

Wow, Salve A., Pokwang made it to Balitang Amerika, when its host, Gel Santos-Relos mentioned that her new movie, filmed in the U.S., EDSA Woolworth, will be showing in theaters all over California.

Directed by John-D Lazatin, who also directed Pokwang’s first film, A Mother’s Story, na prinuduce din ng ABS-CBN TFC (The Filipino Channel), Edsa Woolworth co-stars Pokwang with American actor Lee O’Brien, na napapabalitang sobra ang atraksiyong nararamdaman kay Pokwang hanggang ngayon.

Lazatin tapped writer-director Noel Nuguit to do the story and screenplay of EDSA Woolworth. It was Nuguit who also wrote the story and script of A Mother’s Story.

The film’s photography, according to Direk John, captured especially the beauty of the San Francisco Bay.

Did we hear it right na almost a done deal na ang paglipat ni John Prats sa GMA 7, where younger sister, Camille Prats is currently under contract to.

Both John and Camille started their showbiz careers as child stars sa ABS-CBN.

Well, to John, like Camille, good luck.

Meanwhile, did we hear it right as well that John’s bride to be, Isabel Oli, has not renewed her contract with the Kapuso.

John and Isabel have set their wedding date for May 9 next year.
