Jessy mas nag-focus sa ama kesa sa manliligaw

Biro namin kay Jessy Mendiola, when we talked to her after the presscon for her movie, The Trial, with Richard Gomez, and Gretchen Barretto sa Star Cinema press conference office, ‘‘Broken-hearted ka ha?’’

“Naku, hindi ho,” maliksing sagot ni Jessy. ‘‘Ba’t ho n’yo nasabi?’’

We even cited a popular TV host-actress na naging biglaan din na nagpaputol ng kanyang mahabang buhok, when her supposed blooming romance with a young politician ay ‘di nag-prosper.

Ngumiti si Jessy. Earlier kasi, siya mismo ang nagbalitang nagtampo sa kanya ang kanyang manliligaw na Colombian when he came over sometime back and she was not able to entertain him, tulad ng obviously sa inaasahan ng binata.

Kaya, natural na that they focused their attention sa ama habang nasa bansa.

For a change in look ba,’’ nakangiting saad ni Jessy.

In The Trial, however, Jessy still wore her long hair.

And since it’s her first time daw to work with him in a movie, although, si Direk Chito raw ang nagsimulang mag-direk ng kanyang series na Maria Mercedes, wala raw siyang hindi gagawin to please him.

‘‘Feel ko kasi, all the while I was doing The Trial, I was on trial as an actress, not just far as Direk Chito is concerned, kung hindi ng ating mga co-star din, lalo na sina Richard, Gretchen at Lloydie (John Lloyd’s pet name).

‘‘Bale ba, since most of my scenes were with Lloydie nga, I was hoping na somehow magiging close kami. Kaya, kahit papaano, I can turn to him, lalo’t sa mga eksenang mahihirap involving the two of us.

‘‘Kaso, all throughout the shooting ng The Trial, everytime dumarating si Lloydie sa set, in character na siya, kumbaga.

‘‘Kaya, in time, ganun na rin ang ginawa ko,’’ dugtong pa ni Jessy. ‘‘And it paid off.

John Lloyd ayaw munang mag-teleserye, inayawan sina Jericho at Maja

Of Lloydie, did we hear it right na henceforth, he wants to focus merely on his film career. Meaning, ‘di muna siya tatanggap ng teleserye, o maging ng sitcom, obviously after mag-end ang kanyang Home Sweetie Home with Toni Gonzaga.

Already, we heard a report that he begged off from doing the teleserye, The Bridges, which would have co-starred him with fellow good actor Jericho Rosales at Maja Salvador.
