Wow, Salve A., now we know a real beauty, specifically, a beauty queen material, when we see one.
From among the equally beauteous candidates in the recently concluded 14th Miss Philippines-Earth, held at MOA (Mall of Asia Arena), 19 year-old Jamie Harrel (ng Cebu City) stood out.
Ang ganda niyang magdala ng swimsuit at long gown and articulate siya. Kaya, earlier duÂring the contest, napili na siyang winner for the special award, Best in Cultural attire.
Her winning point, though, which eventually won her the title Miss Philippines-Earth 2014, was her answer to a question posed by Akbayan Representative, Riza Hontiveros.
If only daw we can be kinder to her. By helping her sa kanyang desire to serve us, she will surely take care of us, too.
Hindi ba good answer, Salve A.?
Pa-contest ni Mayor Erap, pampatayo ng Dialysis Center
The Miss Manila 2014 search, like the Miss Philippines-Earth, is advocacy oriented since ang pinaka-goal nito ay ang makapagpatayo ng isang Dialysis Center sa Manila, specifically for Manileños.
The contest is a project of the MARE Foundation, Inc., a non-profit institution headed by former First Lady of the Philippines turned Senator, and now first lady of Manila, Dra. Luisa “Loi†Ejercito Estrada.
At the presscon, organized for the said contest, Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, said that the competition is in celebration of this year’s Araw ng Maynila. He stressed though, that the contest is not just a search for beauty, but for one na may brain o talent din, kumbaga.
Ipinaka-specify ni Mayor Erap, na qÂualified lang for the contest ang mga babaeng, ages 18 to 25 years old, ang pagiging female since birth at pagiÂging residente ng Manila.
Dapat nakapag-aral din siya sa isang school in Manila, for at least two years.
Application forms are available sa Tourism Office (MTCAB) ng Manila. Or sa Liga ng mga Barangay, 4th floor, Tourism Office, Manila City Hall.
Open ang mga nabanggit na offices, Mondays to Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Screening will be held on May 20, 2014 at Palacio de Manila, from 9:00 a.m. to 9: p.m.
The winner who will be crowned Miss Manila 2014, will be announced on June 24, 7:00 p.m., at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, Pablo Ocampo St. (Formerly Vito Cruz St.), Malate Manila.
Dating first lady Imelda Marcos, dating talunan sa beauty contest
Guess who was once a contestant for Miss Manila but failed to make it. Kaya raw, she was just given the title bilang Muse of Manila.
Well, no less than former First Lady Imelda Marcos, that’s who.
Napanood siya ng dating Presidente na si Ferdinand Marcos, na noo’y senador pa lamang.
Well, what happened next is now history.
By the way, winner of Miss Manila automatically becomes talent din ng Viva Films.
