If only because I know you would agree that Robin, along with his elder brother Rommel and his three sons Daniel, Matt, and RJ Padilla, and wife Mariel Rodriguez are truly a sight to behold.
Such gifted clan when it comes to looks kasi wala ka talagang maitulak-kabigin sa kanila. Ang ga-guwapo ng mga anak ni Rommel. And, happily, behaved sila. And close to each other, as Daniel claimed, kahit pa magkakaiba ang kanilang ina.
Daniel, of course, has for his mother former Regal Baby Karla Estrada.
It had to be an ideal project and Robin immeÂdiately agreed to the idea.
Kaya raw, when he was told about the Kuratong Baleleng exploits, he told himself: ‘‘Well, why not this project?’’
A period story, which happened in the turbulent decade of the ’70s, minsan nang nagkaroon ng movie about the Kuratong Baleleng which had Jinggoy Estrada playing the top role.
But while in the first movie it was the vigilante’s group which was touched, in Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak it is the organization’s head, Ongkoy, who will be exploited.
Robin said he wants specially Ongkoy’s passioÂnate and radical views on governance and politics ang gusto niyang malaman ng manonood.
After all daw, according to Robin, it was these particular na paniniwala ni Ongkoy, which helped redefine patriotism in the country.
In his time, Ongkoy was known as the Robinhood (which, incidentally, happens to be Robin’s real name) of Mindanao.
Directed by Jon Villarin, Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak also stars Robin’s daughter Kylie Padilla, his niece Bela Padilla, Christopher de Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Karla Estrada, Pen Medina, Lito Pimentel, Dennis Padilla, Aljur Abrenica, and Bugoy Cariño.
Scheduled to be shown starting Jan. 29 in cinemas nationwide, Sa Ngalan… is produced by Robin’s own film firm, RCP. The film that Star Cinema will release is a part of its ongoing 20th anniversary celebration.
At the presscon, Robin did announce his plan to produce a movie co-starring him and his ‘‘new sister,’’ BB Gandanghari.
And emerged nga na BB Gandanghari.
As claimed by Robin it was his only son Ali (mother is his estranged wife Liezl Sicangco) who somehow enlightened his pag-iisip na, no matter what, hindi na magbabago ang isipan ni Rustom tungkol sa kanyang sarili.
Sabi raw sa kanya ni Ali, bawat tao, to each his own. Kaya he/she should decide for himself/herself what he thinks is best for him/her.
Kaya nga we wonder from Robin’s statement how Ali, who is now a teenager, will react na ’di ito mag-aartista.
Ali, if we recall, has always expressed the wish to follow his dad’s footsteps.
