Paulo hindi gaanong nagpapagpag!

YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

At the presscon for Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay, a Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry co-produced by Star Cinema and Regal Entertainment, Inc., Paulo Avelino was asked how he feels now that finally he is given the star treatment long due him.

‘I guess, tulad ng karaniwang nabibigyan ng magandang break, finally I not only feel satisfied but challenged.

‘‘Kasi, henceforth, you have to prove you deserve what finally has been rewarded to you,’’ sagot ng aktor.

With Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay, directed by Frasco Mortiz, he finds his character quite demanding. Obviously, according to him, it is because first time niya na mapasabak sa isang horror-suspense movie.

Paulo co-stars in the movie with Shaina Magdayao, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, and child actor Clarence Delgado, together with Matet de Leon, Dominic Roque, Miles Ocampo, CJ Novato, Michelle Vito, Marvin Yap, and Janus del Prado

Well, in Pagpag, this belief, according to Direk Frasco, is well explored. Mapanood kung paanong dahil ’di sinunod ng barkada nina Cedric (played by Daniel) at Leni (Kathryn) ang tradisyong ito, sila at ang kanilang barkada ay nakaranas ng’ di nila inaasahang encounter with evil and harmful spirits.

But, of course, susog ni Direk Frasco, as in the tradition ng mga project, mapa-pelikula o mapa-TV, ng magka-love team na sina Kathryn at Daniel, may touch of rumor and romance ang Pagpag.

Finally, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and MMFF Chairman Francis Tolentino met members of the media, to announce officially the schedule of activities for the upcoming 39th Metro Manila Film Festival.

All in all, eight films will be shown during the December filmfest. All mainstream.

All the films that will be shown are guaranteed to be entertaining and of supreme quality.

“Bawat producer ng entries ng mga pelikula made sure na handog nila sa manonood ay worthy of the amount they will pay sa takilya. Truly a treat,’’ pahayag pa ng mabunying MMFF executive chair.
