What do John Gemperle and Richard Yap, otherÂwise known to their followers as a radio DJ Papa Jack of Love Radio and Ser Chief of Be Careful With My Heart, respectively have in common?
Well, they are both endorsers of Krem-Top, a superior coffee creamer launched in 2010. And the people behind the creamer acknowledge the two as the reason why their vision to make the product not just a priority but a ‘‘must in every consumer’s list when they purchase their every need has become a reality.â€
They admit that Papa Jack, for one, does his best always to mention Krem-Top through his love advice and life lessons in his radio program, True Love Conversations.
Richard, for himself, serves as an inspiration to consumers for his continuous challenge to be better in his field. Yes, as a celebrity and as a businessman.
The two, true to this year’s campaign of Krem-Top, really has made the creamer another change for a better Pilipinas.
Speaking of Papa Jack, who also has another program called Wild Confessions in the same FM radio station, 90.7, is a single father.
Due to reasons that he would not divulge, though, he was not married to Chloe’s (his daughter) mother.
But only last April 28, he got married to 20-year-old Toni Rose (nee Maniego).
They have yet to go on a honeymoon, though. He promised Toni he will take her to New Zealand for their honeymoon this December.
Of Ser Chief, he has two daughters with his wife Marilou. Before Ser Chief joined showbiz, he was a marketing manager of a big furniture company in Cebu.
It was when he became a commercial model for a fastfood chain that he was discovered for showbiz. A friend of his cousin Dagang Vilbar asked if she thought Richard would be interested to join showbiz.
Dagang is with the Dreamscape Productions that is headed by ABS-CBN business unit head, Deo Endrinal.
‘‘At that time Dreamscape was producing My Binondo Girl and they were looking for a Chinese looking guy who would play the role of Kim Chiu’s father,†Richard recalled. ‘‘When may cousin told me about the offer, I answered, why not? And the rest is history.’’
At that time, since his surname is My Binondo Girl was Chen, followers of the series referred to him as Papa Chen.
Before he was cast in Be Careful With My Heart, according to Richard, Dreamscape cast him in a guest role in the series Walang Hanggan.
When he agreed to do Be Careful… with Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard did not expect the series to enjoy immense popularity as it does now. Not just in the local market but also abroad.
‘‘Naturally, we in the cast of the series are overwhelmed with the series’ success. Ngayong mag-asawa na kami ni Maya (Jodi), we had qualms that it might end the kilig factor of the series.
‘‘Surprisingly, it hasn’t. From what I heard, viewers would want us, me and Jodi, to have a child. Lalo pa nga at even my supposed kids with my first wife, especially Abby, my youngest (played by child actress Mutya Orquia) and Maya’s supposed ward, are eager to have a baby brother or sister,’’ sabi ni Richard.
As a marketing man, would Richard know when Be Careful… should make its exit?
‘‘Well, that’s not for me to judge. Not even the production people behind Be Careful With My Heart.
‘‘But as long as the public continues to follow the series religiously may kasabihan ’di ba? To not, for anyone, argue with success.’’
Well, that’s an expert marketing man talking.
Kaya, who are we, Salve A., to argue?
