Now in her 30s, having a man is not the still beautiful Ruffa Gutierrez’s priority. She’s happy and, best of all, content with just being a mom to her equally two beautiful daughters Lorin and Venice.
‘‘They are both beauty queen materials. Madalas nilang itanong sa akin how it is to win a beauty crown,’’ pahayag pa ni Ruffa, beaming with pride.
In her current movie, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, she plays what she considers a special role. But she loves it.
The fact, after all, that she is co-starred with Vice Ganda, actually a good friend, and Maricel Soriano, is more than enough. Add to this daw that the cast also includes Joey Marquez, Ejay Falcon, Cristine Reyes, plus Kiray and child stars Xyriel Manabat, Red Bustamante, at JM Ibañez. And most of all, it has blockbuster director Wenn Deramas at the helm.
It’s her first time to work with all of them. “And, hopefully not the last time,†sabi ni Ruffa.
In an interview with Boy Abunda in the latter’s Ikaw Na! portion in the late night newscast Bandila, Ruffa told the TV host that she expects 2014 to be a much better year for her. Professionally, that is. And not necessarily as an actress.
Do you know that Ruffa nurtures the dream of becoming newscaster just like Karen Davila and Ces Drilon?
And guess what else? She hopes to have her own brand, tulad ng kanyang paboritong fashion icon, si Kimora Lee Simons.
Excited si Mother Lily Monteverde for the movie Pagpag, another filmfest entry, starring showbiz current hottest love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
Based on their trailer pa lamang daw, pinupulsuhan na niyang kikita ito. Bale ba, it’s the only horror-suspense entry in this year’s MMFF.
Directed by Frasco Mortiz, Pagpag is co-produced by Mother Lily’s firm, Regal Entertainment, Inc. and Skylight Films.
Jolina magpapasuso
Hindi mo aakalaing lalaki ang ipinagbubuntis ni Jolina MagdaÂngal based on how she looks these days.
But as she said: ‘‘Kung sabagay, ang prioÂrity naming mag-asawa ay ang makaraos ako. And it looks like I will have a safe and easy delivery.’’
She will be a hands-on mom to her son na ibi-breastfeed daw niya.
Well, congrats and a successful panganganak, Jolina!
