Chito Roño walang katapat sa mga katatakutang pelikula!

No one can argue that at the moment, si Chito Roño, and no director else can claim to be the Master of Horror-Suspense films.

Of late kasi, Direk Chito has been concentrating on directing horror movies, which always ends up sa takilya as a box office hit. The latest nga ang The Healing, which starred Batangas Governor Vilma Santos at Janice de Belen.

Janice is again Direk Chito’s star in the Regal Entertainment Metro Manila Filmfest (MMFF) entry, Shake, Rattle and Roll XIV: The Invasion, which, as all past SRR episodes, is again a horror-suspense flick.

SSR XIV is, as usual, a three-episode movie. And Janice, together with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista at Arlene Muhlach. The two other episodes are Unwanted and Lost Command.

Unwanted co-stars for the first time Vhong Navarro with Lovi Poe. The Lost Command, which reunites Dennis Trillo with former fellow Kapuso, Paulo Avelino (now a Kapamilya), co-stars them with Martin Escudero, former Kapuso, too, and now a Kapatid.

For your guidance, here are the other MMFF 2012 entries:

• Thy Womb, starring Nora Aunor and Lovi Poe and directed by Brillante Mendoza.

• The Strangers, topbills Janice de Belen, Cherrie Pie Picache, Julia Montes, Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil, and JM de Guzman. Direction: Lawrence Fajardo.

• Si Agimat, si Enteng at si AKO, stars together anew Senator Bong Revilla and Vic Sotto.

They were together in the MMFF entry top grosser in 2010, Si Agimat at si Enteng.

Again directed by Tony V. Reyes, added to the cast is Judy Ann Santos.

• Sisterakas stars for the first time three box office giants, Ai Ai de las Alas, Vice Ganda, at Kris Aquino.

Directed by equally box office director, Wenn Deramas, Sisterakas features the current love team of the hour, Daniel Padilla at Kathryn Bernardo.

• El Presidente stars Laguna Governor Jorge Ejercito E.R. Ejercito, who plays Emilio Aguinaldo, first President of the Republic of the Phi­lip­pines, co-starring with him are Nora Aunor at Cristine Reyes and, proudly, he announced, a cast of thousands, most of whom are stars in their own rights.

Directing El Presidente is Mark Meily.

• One More Try is the only drama movie in the MMFF 2012, starring Angelica Panganiban, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo, at Angel Locsin. Direction: Ruel Bayani.

• Sosy Problems, idinirehe ni Andoy Ranoy, stars Aljur Abrenica at Solenn Heussaff.

Ang MMFF ay magsisimula officially on December 25. The usual Parade of Stars, which ushers in the MMFF, will take place December 23. Yes, still at the kahabaan ng Roxas Blvd.
