Collecting leftovers

THE EAR - Pang-masa

LEFTOVERS. There is a group of young people calling themselves “Feeders for the Lord” who collect leftovers from first class restaurants to be re-cooked and fed to members of poor families in the slum areas.

UNTOUCHED. A member of the group told an Ear informer that much of the leftovers they collect are untouched since most of the customers of the restaurants they operate in are rich people. “We re-cooked the leftovers making them fresh from the kitchen again,” she said. She said groups like theirs are common in Singapore, Hong Kong and other rich cities in Asia.
