CEPCA 34th anniversary tourney slated on November 10
On its 34th anniversary celebration, CEPCA will pay homage to its late founder Engr. Boy “Chessmoso” Pestaño with a tournament featuring the best of the best in Cebu chess this Sunday, November 10, at the Cebu Chess Club located at the 4th level of Robinsons Galleria Cebu near the cinema area.

CEBU, Philippines — The best of the best in Cebu chess will try to outdo each other in the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association’s 34th Anniversary Tournament dubbed as the 8th Engr. Boy “Chessmoso” Pestaño Memorial Cup slated on Sunday, November 10, at the Cebu Chess Club located at the 4th level of Robinsons Galleria Cebu near the cinema area.

Over P60,000 in cash prize will be given away to the winners of the one-day tilt spearheaded by CEPCA headed by its longtime president Engr. Jerry Maratas with the support of Celjem Construction and Development Corporation, JEMAR Engineering Services, ARQ Sports, and Gonzalodo Enterprises.

Aside from the specially-crafted Jun Olis Trophy, the champion will go home P10,000 richer.

The second to fifth placers will pocket P7,000, P5,000, P3,000, and P2,000, respectively. The sixth to 10th will receive P1,500 each, the 11th-15th P1,000, and the 16th to 25th P500 apiece.

The top three performers among Cepcans A and B , ladies, seniors, 8 Under and 14 Under participants will get an incentive of P1,500, P1,000, and P500.

Entry fee is pegged at P200 for the PWDs, seniors, ladies, Cepcans and kids 12 years old and below and P300 for regular players.
