Blue Eagles sinisiw ang Lady Warriors sa SSL

MANILA, Philippines — Ipinaramdam ng Ateneo de Manila University ang kanilang lakas matapos walisin sa tatlong sets ang University of the East, 25-21, 25-17, 25-22 sa 2024 Shakey’s Super League (SSL) Collegiate Pre-season Championship classification round na nilaro sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum kahapon.

Maganda ang pamamahagi ng bola ni setter Taks Fujimoto sa Blue E­agles kaya naman ma­gaan nilang tinalo ang Lady Warriors at umusad sa susunod na stage kontra College of Saint Benilde.

Magbabakbakan sa battle for fifth ang Ateneo at Saint Benilde sa tournament na suportado ng Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, GCash, Chery Tiggo, F2 Logistics, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, Potato Corner, R and B Milk Tea at Summit Water, ang laro nila ay sa Nobyembre 16.

“I think this classification is about proving ourselves, proving that we can fight even though it’s not the championship. But along the way we learn and I know naman we can show coach Sergio’s (Veloso) system,” ani Fujimoto na nagrehistro ng tatlong puntos at 12 excellent sets.

Kumana sina Geezel Tsunashima at Lyan De Guzman ng 11 at 10 mar­kers, ayon sa pagkakasunod para sa Blue Eagles na tinapos ang Lady Warriors sa loob lang ng isang oras at 35 minuto.

Nag-ambag din para sa Ateneo sina AC Miner at Faye Nisperos ng tig- pitong puntos habang tig- anim ang tinipa nina Sophia Buena at Jennifer Delos Santos sa event na katuwang ang Smart Sports, PLDT Fibr, Mikasa, Asics, Rebel Sports, Eurotel, Victory Liner, Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), at SM Tickets bilang technical partners. 

Si Casiey Dongallo lamang ang umiskor ng double digits para sa UE, tumikada ito ng 10 points.
