Makakatapat ng mga top-notch teams mula sa Metro Manila ang mga provincial squads sa torneong kasama sa kalendaryo ng beach volleyball program ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation.

MANILA, Philippines – Hahataw ang 91 teams sa Second Mayor Albee Benitez Beach Volleyball Tournament na magsisimula ngayon sa University of St. La Salle Sandbox sa Bacolod City.

Makakatapat ng mga top-notch teams mula sa Metro Manila ang mga provincial squads sa torneong kasama sa kalendaryo ng beach volleyball program ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) na pinamumunuan ni Ramon “Tats” Suzara.

Babandera ang Ateneo, University of the Philippines, University of Perpetual Help-Las Piñas, VMA Sturgeon, Far Eastern University, University of Santo Tomas (UST), De La Salle at National University ang mga tropa mula sa Metro Manila.

Ang Colegio de Santa Ana de Victorias at host venue St. La Salle ang mangunguna sa mga provincial teams sa torneong  nag-aalok ng cash prizes sa mga podium finishers, ayon kay PNVF director Carmela Arcolas-Gamboa.

“It will be nine days of exciting beach volleyball action,” ani Gamboa. “And we expect this tournament to further propagate volleyball in line with our program and vision in the PNVF.”

May laro din bukas at sa Oktubre 18 hanggang 24 sa men’s at women’s 17-under at open categories.

Sina Ran Ran Abdilla at Alexander Cabatuan ng Verayo’s Grill ang men’s open champion, habang sina Gen Eslapor at Sophia Pagara ng UST ang reigning women’s open titlists sa torneong inroganisa ng Volleyball Association of Negros Island na pinamumunuan ni Gamboa kasama si tournament director Reylin Verayo.

Ang champion team ay nag-uuwi ng P10,000 at ang losing finalist ay tatanggap ng P7,000, habang ang third at fourth placers ay may P4,000 at P2,000, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
