Morales hari sa Go For Gold Criterium Race Series 2
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Pinagharian ni Jan Paul Morales ang Go For Gold Criterium Race Series 2 matapos magposte ng tiyempong 55:00.79 sa men’s elite category sa City Di Mare.
Humarurot ang reigning national champion mula sa Standard Insurance continental team sa huling 50 metro para ungusan sina Esteve Hora Jr. ng SIP team at Go For Gold bet Marc Ryan Lago sa finish line.
“Naghintay ako ng tamang pagkakataon at nabiyayaan ng maganda sa dulo,’’ sabi ni Morales, isang two-time local Tour champion at sprint specialist, sa 35 laps ng 1.1-kilometer course.
Ang second phase ng three-leg race series ay itinaguyod ng Go For Gold, Scratchit, BOOSTER C, MAGENE, SPN Cycle, IPI, City Di Mare, CCN, Hytera, Gatorade, NeoZigma, CCLEX, Nickel Asia Corporation, Cebu City government, Cebu City Vice Mayor Dondon Hontiveros at PhilCycling.
Pinagreynahan naman ni Mathilda Krogg ang women’s open sa kanyang 41:04.71 (20 laps) kasunod ang kanyang Standard Insurance teammates na sina Raven Joy Valdez at Angela Joy Marie Bermejo.

Also, the support of Cebu City Vice Mayor Dondon Hontiveros made it doubly successful,” wika ni Go For Gold founder Jeremy Go na pinasalamatan ang mga sumaling cycling teams. Aside from organizing safe and well-run races in order to elevate the sport of cycling in the Philippines, these races serve as talent identification,’’ dagdag nito.
Wagi si Steven Tablizo sa men’s under-23 category para talunin sina Rrking Roque at James Paul Ryan Escumbien ng SIP.
Kumawala naman sina John Arwin Velasco at Marvin Mandac sa huling tatlong laps para sa1-2 finish ng Go For Gold team sa men junior category.
Panalo rin sina Mary Gweniele Francisco (women junior) at Prince Jay Elbanbuena (men’s youth).
Ang final leg ng criterium series ay idaraos sa Setyembre o Oktubre sa Mindanao.
