Cebu mo-host sa National Open Weightlifting Championships

CEBU, Philippines — Ang dakbayan sa Sugbo maoy mo-host sa 2024 nga edisyon sa National Open Weightlifting Championships.

Mao kini ang gipahibawo ni Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas (SWP) President Monico Puentevella atol sa usa ka press conference niadtong Miyerkules, Mayo 29, didto sa Executive Lounge sa SM Seaside City, ang opisyal nga binyu sa usa ka semanang inalsahay nga gikatakda karong Hunyo 9-15.

"I came here to announce that the National Open will be held here on June 9 to 15. I thank chairman John Pages for the help. We appreciate the Cebu City Sports Commission for helping us with all of this. We're very thankful to John and the CCSC," matud pa ni  Puentevella. Gawas ni Pages, si Puentevella giduyogan sab nilang SWP Chairman Mark Alino ug laing opisyal nga si Alex Pacquiao.

Kapin sa 300 ka mga lifters lukop nasud ang mopakita'g aksiyon sa tinuig nga torneyo nga katapusang gipahigayon dinhi sa Sugbo niadto pang Disiembre 2018.

Si Puentevella nagkanayon nga ang upat ka Pinoy Olympians nga si Hidilyn Diaz, mga garbo sa Sugbo nga sila si Elreen Ando ug John Febuar Ceniza, ug ang Bol-anon nga si Vanessa Sarno molamas sa kompetisyon pinaagi sa pagpakita sa ilang abilidad sa usa ka ekshibisyon sa tinguha nga makahatag sila og inspirasyon sa mga batan-ong atleta.

Aron makakuha og dugang suporta alang sa National Open, si Puentevella mobisita nilang Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia ug Cebu City Acting Mayor Raymond Garcia.

"I will invite Governor Gwen and acting mayor Raymond (Garcia) so they can appreciate our weightlifters especially that Cebu is now at the forefront of Philippine weightlifting because two of our Olympians are from here," dason pa ni Puentevella.
