Wright pumirma na sa Kyoto team sa B.League
MANILA, Philippines — Matapos ang anim na taon sa PBA ay dadalhin ni Matthew Wright ang kanyang talento sa Kyoto Hannaryz team para sa Japan B.League 2022-23 season.
Nauna nang nagpaalam ang Fil-Canadian shooting guard sa kanyang PBA ballclub na Phoenix Fuel Masters para maglaro sa Hannaryz squad.
“I am excited to embark on this new journey and looking forward to reuniting with coach Roy Rana,” ani Wright. “I’m eager to help take this team to the next level and build a winning culture with the organization.
“Thank you to all the supporters and I look forward seeing you at the games,” dagdag nito.
Sa kanyang paglalaro sa PBA ay dalawang beses dinala ng 31-anyos na si Wright ang Fuel Masters sa semifinals at napabilang sa PBA Mythical Team noong 2020 season.
Kumamada si Wright ng mga averages na 15.0 points, 5.9 assists, 5.1 rebounds at 1.6 steals sa 2022 PBA Philippine Cup.
Sa kanyang pagsalang sa B.League ay makakatapat ni Wright sina Pinoy imports Kiefer Ravena (Shiga Lakes), Thirdy Ravena (San-En NeoPhoenix), Dwight Ramos (Levanga Hokkaido), Bobby Ray Parks Jr. (Nagoya Diamond Dolphins) at Justine Baltazar (Hiroshima Dragonflies) sa first division.
