MANILA, Philippines — Nakahirit na ng gintong medalya ang Swim League Philippines (SLP)-Behrouz Elite Swimming Team (BEST) sa 2022 Middle East Open and Junior Championships na ginaganap sa Hamilton Aquatic Sports Center sa Dubai, United Arab Emi­rates.

Ito ay mula kay Filipino-British Heather White na nangibabaw sa girls’ 12-over 100m butterfly event.

Nagtala si White ng impresibong isang minuto at 4.60 segundo para ilampaso ang 10 karibal nito sa finals kabilang na sina silver medalist Jasmi Mattison ng United Arab Emirates at Isabel Strauss ng England na parehong may naitalang 1:11.13.

Ito ang ikalawang me­dalya ni White sa torneo matapos makahirit ng pilak sa opening day ng torneong nilahukan ng mahigit 500 tankers mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo.

Nakapilak si White sa girls’ 12-year over 50m butterfly sa bendisyon ng 29.35 segundong performance nito.

“We’re so proud of Heather for winning our first gold medal here in Dubai in this year’s edition. We are looking forward to win more in the coming days,” ani SLP-BEST team manager Joan Mojdeh.

Sa kabuuan, mayroon nang isang ginto, tatlong pilak at isang tansong medalya ang Pinoy tan­kers sa torneo.

Nakahirit ng dalawang pilak si Filipino-British Hannah White sa girls’ 10-year category 100m freestyle (1:16.15) at 50m butterfly (39.32).
