MANILA, Philippines — Posibleng maganap na sa Marso 2022 ang inaabangang unification fight nina Japanese fighter Naoya Inoue at Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire.

Kapwa sariwa pa sa panalo sina Inoue at Donaire.

Bitbit ni Inoue ang World Boxing Association (WBA) at International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight titles habang nasa palad ni Donaire ang World Boxing Council (WBC) belt.

Nadepensahan ni Donaire ang kanyang WBC crown matapos ang fourth-round knockout win sa kababayang si Reymart Gaballo noong nakaraang linggo sa Carson, California.

Isinelyo naman ni Inoue ang eight-round knockout win kay Aran Diapen ng Thailand para mapanatili ang WBA at IBF belts.

Dahil dito, maugong na ang usapan para sa muling paghaharap nina Inoue at Donaire sa susunod na taon.

Sinabi ni Top Rank Promotions chief Bob Arum — ang humahawak sa boxing career ng Japanese pug — na bukas ang kampo ni Inoue na muling makasagupa si Donaire.

Personal na nasaksihan ni Arum ang blockbuster fight nina Inoue at Donaire noong 2019 sa finals ng World Boxing Super Series sa Saitama, Japan kung saan nanalo ang Japanese boxer via unanimous decision.

Kaya naman inaasa-hang uusad na ang negosasyon para matuloy ang inaabangang bakbakan nina Inoue at Donaire sa 2022 na posibleng isa sa maging kandidato para sa Fight of the Year award.

Puntirya ni Arum na maikasa ito sa Marso na posibleng muling ganapin sa Japan.

“The last time they met (in the ring) was great and it’s going to be a great fight to see them again duel. A fight with Donaire in Japan is going to be a big fight,” ani Arum.
