Catantan naka-pilak din sa Amerika
MANILA, Philippines — Humirit si Samantha Catantan ng pilak na medalya sa women’s foil division ng National American Cup na ginanap sa Greater Richmond Convention Center sa Virginia, USA.
Nagkasya sa silver si Catantan habang nasikwat ni Eleanor Harvey ang gintong medalya.
Napunta naman kay Sara Taffel ang tanso.
“Going into this tournament I had no expectations, especially with the 145 athletes, some of them being Olympians and world champions. It’s truly a blessing that I placed second and I am still out of words,” ani Catantan.
Ito ang ikalawang sunod na medalya ni Catantan matapos makahirit ng tanso sa Asian Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) sa Tashkent, Uzbekistan noong Abril.
Nakatanso rin si Catanta sa US NCAA kung saan naglalaro ito para sa Penn State University.
“I want to thank my coach from Penn State who was there the whole time to support me and to Coach Amat who has been cheering me on since day 1,” dagdag ni Catantan.
