PSC nagpasalamat kay Tolentino

Sa concern sa mga nat’l athletes, coaches

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi na dapat ma­ngamba si Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino.

Tiniyak kahapon ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) kay Tolentino na maibabalik nang buo ang monthly allowance ng mga national athletes at coaches.

“We fully understand the concern of POC president Cong. Bambol Tolentino considering the excellent performance of the Team Philippines in the last SEA Games, but (PSC) chairman (William Ramirez) assured the POC president and Sen. Bong Go that the allowances will be return to the athletes and coaches once everything is back to normal,” ani PSC Executive Director Atty. Guillermo Iroy

Kamakalawa ay sinabi ni Tolentino, ang 8th District Rep. ng Cavite, na magla-lobby siya sa Kongreso para mabawi ang pondo ng mga national athletes at coaches sa proposed extension ng “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.’’

Inilipat ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang P596 milyon ng PSC mula sa National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) at P773 milyon sa General Appropriations Act (GAA) para sa pagharap ng gobyerno sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ang allowances ng mga national athletes at coaches ay nagmumula sa NSDF bukod pa ang gastos sa foreign training at competition  habang ang suweldo ng mga PSC employees at maintenance ng mga pasilidad ay kinukuha sa GAA.
