MANILA, Philippines — Ang malaking panalo noong Linggo ang inasa­hang dadalhin ng mga Tropang Texters para makalapit sa inaasam nilang PBA Finals appearance.

Sasagupain ng TNT Katropa ang Meralco ngayong alas-7 ng gabi sa Game Two ng kanilang semifinals series para sa 2019 PBA Governor’s Cup sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Pinaluhod ng Tropang Texters ang Bolts, 103-94, sa Game One ng kanilang best-of-five semifinals showdown na tinampukan ng 38 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists at 3 blocks ni import KJ McDaniels kamakalawa.

Tumapos naman si Roger Pogoy na may 18 points at nagsalansan si Jayson Castro ng all-around game na 17 points, 8 rebounds at assists.

Ngunit wala pang dapat ipagdiwang ang TNT K­atropa, ayon kay coach Bong Ravena.

“We’re glad we won because Game 1 of any series is very important,” sabi ni Ravena. “Nothing to celebrate. Game One lang iyan, mahaba pa series.”

Inaasahan ni Ravena na babalikan sila ng Meralco ni one-time PBA Grand Slam champion mentor Norman Black.

Kaya naman mas hihigpitan nila ang depensa kay two-time PBA Best Import Allen Durham na humakot ng 32 points at 21 rebounds sa Game One.

“We have to find ways to stop Durham. Iyan ang problema namin so gagawan pa namin ng paraan,” wika ni Ravena.

Bukod kina McDaniels, Pogoy at Castro ay mu­ling aasahan ng Tropang Texters sina Troy Rosario, Ryan Reyes, Mike DiGregorio at Kelly Williams.

Makakatuwang naman ni Durham para sa Bolts sina Chris Newsome, Baser Amer, Raymond Almazan, Cliff Hodge at Allein Maliksi. 

Samantala, kasalukuyan pang naglalaban ang Barangay Ginebra at Batang Pier sa Game 2 ng kanilang sariling best-of-five semis series habang sinusulat ito kung saan lamang sa serye ang Batang Pier.
