Mojdeh, Dula Quintuple Gold Medal Winner
ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, Philippines — Kapwa winalis nina national record holders Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh at Mark Bryan Dula ng Parañaque City ang tig-lima nilang events sa swimming pool habang pinatibay ng Baguio City ang pagdedepensa sa titulo.
Naipanalo nina Mojdeh at Dula ang pang-lima at huli nilang event sa swimming competition para hiranging most bemedalled athletes ng Luzon leg ng 2019 Philippine Sports Commission-Batang Pinoy kahapon dito sa Isabela Sports Complex.
Winalis ng 12-anyos na si Mojdeh, ang top swimmer ng Philippine Swimming League, ang kanyang mga events sa girls’ 13-15 50-meter butterfly (30.44), 100m butterfly (1:06.30), 200m individual medley (2:34.91), 400m individual medley (5:25.11) at 200m butterfly (2:25.74).
“Masayang-masaya po ako kasi ako po ‘yung pinakabata sa age bracket po tapos nanalo po ako ng five golds,” sabi ng Grade 6 student ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College sa Parañaque City. “Lalo po akong magte-training para sa coming Palarong Pambansa.”
Dinomina naman ng 12-anyos na si Dula, Grade 6 student ng Masville Elementary School-Parañaque at ang PSL Male Swimmer of the Year, ang labanan sa boys’ 12-under 100m butterfly (1:08.82), 100m backstroke (1:14.17), 200m backstroke (2:44.46), 50m butterfly (30.77) at 50m backstroke (33.46).
Apat na ginto naman ang nilangoy ni Prince Dave Calma ng Laguna sa boys’ 3-15 50m backstroke (30.53), 200m backstroke (2:22.21), 100m backstroke (1;05.05) at 200m medley relay (2:10.39) habang may tatlo si Quendy Fernandez ng Puerto Princesa sa girls’ 13-15 50m backstroke (32.21), 200m backstroke (2:32.24) at 100m backstroke (1:09.99).
Sa medal tally ay humakot ang Baguio City ng 20 gold, 20 silver at 42 bronze medals kasunod ang Quezon City (16-11-8), Laguna Province (15-21-17), Pasig City (15-17-14), Taguig City (11-13-12), Pangasinan (11-13-11), Makati City (11-5-6), Parañaque City (10-2-9), Dagupan City (9-9-6) at Dasmariñas City (9-4-13).
Sa athletics, dalawang ginto ang itinakbo nina Janine Ledina ng Zambales sa girls’ javelin throw (34.23m) at discus throw (29.82m) at Rufo Aidan Raguine ng Pangasinan sa boys’ triple jump (13.28m) at long jump (6.63m).
