30th SEAG hosting tiyakin na matagumpay--Duterte
MANILA, Philippines — Naglabas na ng kautusan si Pangulong Rodrigo R. Duterte para masiguro ang tagumpay sa hosting ng 2019 Southeast Asian Games sa Nov. 30 hanggang sa Dec. 11 na gaganapin sa New Clark City sa Tarlac bilang main hub.
Sa Memorandum Circular No. 56 na pinirmahan ni Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea noon pang Enero 25, inutusan ni Presidente Duterte ang lahat ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno na suportahan at tulungan ang hosting ng bansa sa biennial Games na idaraos sa Pilipinas sa ika-apat na pagkakataon.
Kabilang ang mga government-owned corporations at local government units sa inutusan na tutulong sa preparasyon ng SEA Games na unang ginanap dito sa bansa noong 1981 at sinundan noong 1991 at ang ikatlo ay noong 2005.
“Directing All Government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations and encouraging all local government units to extend their support to the Philippine SEA Games Organizational Committees,” ayon sa Circular No. 56.
Ang nasabing dokumento ay nag-utos din sa Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at sa Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) at ibat-ibang National Sports Associations (NSAs) na magtulungan upang masiguro ang tagumpay ng 30th SEA Games.
“To insure the smooth and efficient organization and hosting of the 30th SEA Games, the following are hereby ordered. The PSC and the POC and all concerned national sports associations (NSAs) shall coordinate and support each other for the effective preparations and successful preparations of the Philippine delegates in the SEA Games and all preparatory and relevant competitions,” dagdag sa utos ni Pres. Duterte.
Mahigit P7.5 bilyon mula sa 2019 General Approriations Act (GAA) ang inilaan ng gobyerno para sa 12-day multi-event meet na sasalihan sa mahigit 11-bansa mula sa rehiyon ng Southeast Asia.
Ang 2019 edisyon ang pinakamalaking SEA Games sa kasaysayan na mayroong mahigit 523 events sa kabuuang 56 sports disciplines na paglalabanan sa inaasahang 9,840 atleta mula sa ASEAN region.
