Para athletes sasabak na sa aksyon

MANILA, Philippines — Mahigit 1,000 atleta sa pangunguna nina Asean Para Games gold medalists Adeline Dumapong-Ancheta at Josephine Medina ang sasabak sa 6th PSC-National Paralympic Games na magsimula ngayon sa Marikina Sports Park.

Pangungunahan nina  Philippine Paralympic Committee president Mike Barredo at PSC commissioner Arnold Agustin at Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro ang opening ceremonies alas-8 ng umaga.

 “We would like to thank the Philippine Sports Commission and the local government units for their co­tinuing support of our PHILSPADA National Para Games,” sabi ni Barredo.

Ang limang araw na paligsahan para sa differently ables athletes ay magsisilbi na ring tryouts para sa mga atletang bubuo sa 3rd Asian Paralympic Games na gaganapin sa Indonesia ngayong Oktubre.

Sina polio strickened, Ancheta at Medina ay kapwa mga bronze medalists sa nakaraang World Paralympic Games. Si Ancheta ay sa women’s powerlifting habang si Medina ay sa table tennis.

“The PSC always welcomes the opportunity in sta­ging the PSC-Philspada  National Para Games because this competition provides our disabled athletes with a venue where they can showcase their skills and sports talents,” ayon naman kay Agustin.
