Janda target ang apat na gold medals
JACKSONVILLE, Florida -- Sisimulan ni Bataan pride Master Charles Janda ang kampanya ng Philippine Swiming League (PSL) sa kanyang pagsabak sa boys’ 10-under category sa 2018 Bolles School Sharks TYR February swimming competition na magsisimula ngayong araw dito sa Cecil Aquatics Center.
Masisilayan kaagad sa aksyon si Janda sa 200m Individual Medley, 500m freestyle, 200m freestyle at 100m butterfly kung saan makakalaban niya ang mas matatanda at mas matatangkad na karibal mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng Amerika.
Aariba rin sina Diliman Preparatory School standouts Paul Christian King Cusing (boys’ 15-over 400m IM at 100m butterfly), Francino Archer Corpuz (boys’ 10-under 200m freestyle at 50m freestyle), at Paula Carmela Cusing (girls’ 14-year 400m IM at 100m butterfly).
“These kids are motivated and willing to learn from this experience. We know how strong the field is but they’re all excited to meet their counterparts and gain new friends. It’s not just about the competition. It’s about learning from the competition and apply it for future tournaments,” wika ni PSL President Susan Papa.
Lalarga rin sina Joaquin Federico Mirasol sa boys’ 11-12 (200m IM at 50m freestyle), Raindale Ching sa boys’ 13-year (200m freestyle at 100m breaststroke), Sophia Anne Barcelo sa girls’ 12-year (200m freestyle at 200m backstroke), Sofia Mae Ching sa girls’ 10-under (200m IM at 200m freestyle) at Jazmine Francheska Mirasol sa girls’ 15-over (200m freestyle at 100m breaststroke).
Huling sasabak si University of the Philippines standout Trisha Anne Oliveros na lalarga sa girls’ 15-over 100m freestyle at 50m freestyle sa huling araw ng kumpetisyon sa Linggo.
Mahigit sa 600 tankers ang lalahok sa torneong inorganisa ng Bolles School Sharks na pinamumunuan ni Jon Sakovic.
“We are thankful to the Bolles School Sharks for inviting us in this competition. It’s a good opportunity for our young swimmers and we’re looking forward to send more PSL tankers in Florida in the future,” ani Papa.
