Galedo determinadong masikwat ang Le Tour Title

MANILA, Philippines - Sisikad ngayong uma­ga ang pamosong Le Tour de Filipinas tampok ang pinakamatitikas na koponang magtatagisan para sa kampeonato.

Magsisimula ang karera sa Legazpi City kung saan nakasentro ang atensiyon kina Mark Galedo at Rustom Lim ng 7 Eleven Road Bike Philippines na galing sa karera sa Herald Sun Tour may dalawang linggo na ang nakalilipas.

Lalarga rin si Frenchman Thomas Lebas ng Kinan Cycling Team na nagkampeon noong 2015 edisyon,

“I wanted to win the crown again. It’s my mission and I want it bad,” pahayag ng 31-anyos na si Galedo na nagpasyang lumahok sa Le Tour de Filipinas sa halip na sa Le Tour de Langkawi sa Malaysia na magkasa­bay na aarangkada.

Masisilayan din ang Team Ikyo (Japan), Bridgrestone Anchor Cycling Team (Japan), Oliver’s Real Food Racing (Australia), Terengganu Cycling Team (Malaysia), LX Pro Cycling Team (South Korea), Uzbekis­tan National Team, CCN Cycling Team (Laos), Keyi Look Sport Cycling Team (China), United Arab Emirates National Team, Attaque Team Gusto (Chinese Taipei) at Sapura Cycling Team (Malaysia).

Sa Linggo, lalarga ang 177.35-km Stage Two mula Sorsogon hanggang Naga City kasunod ang Stage Three na 177.35-km mula Naga City hanggang Daet  at ang Stage Four na 207.30-km mula Daet hanggang Lucena City.

“George is ripe for this race. He will be our main man on the national team,” pahayag ni national coach Bert Oconer.

Maulan sa Legazpi City kaya’t tiyak na masusubukan ang lakas ng mga kalahok sa edisyong ito.

“The rain will bring out the best in the riders, it will test their ability to cope with the elements,” ani Paquito Rivas, ang 1997 Marlboro Tour champion.
