Magbag, Enero mamumuno sa kampanya ng Pilipinas sa World University Games

MANILA, Philippines – Pangungunahan nina Drew Benett Magbag ng Uni­versity of the Philippines at Sean Elijah Enero ng Ma­pua Institute of Techno­logy ang Philippine swimming team na sasabak sa 2017 Summer World University Games na gaga­napin sa Taipei, Taiwan.

Ang delegasyon ay bi­nu­buo ng 87 tankers - 44 na lalaki at 43 na babae - kasama ang 18 opisyal na napili sa tryout na isinagawa ng Philippine Swimming League sa pakikipag­tu­lungan sa Federation of School Sports Associa­tion of the Philippines at Phil­ippine Inter-Schools, Col­le­ges and Universities Athletic Association.

Nagsimula ang tryout noong Hulyo 2015 kung sa­an dumayo ang PSL sa iba’t ibang rehiyon sa bansa kabilang ang Bicol, Aklan, Capiz, Baguio, Mindoro, Iloilo, Davao at National Ca­pital Region.

“We had our tryout since July 2015 to give chance to as many swimmers as we can. We ended the tryout September 2016 and came out of 87 total swimmers. We hope to fill out the total of 105 swimmers,” wika ni PSL president Susan Papa.

Kumpiyansa si Papa na makakapag-uwi ng medalya ang mga miyembro ng koponan.

Inanunsyo nina Papa at Fessap Universiade moni­to­ring and preparation committee chairman Robert Ca­lo ang listahan ng mga swim­mers na sasalang sa Taiwan Universiade.

Kasama rin sa dele­gasyon sina Mhikcoloe Do­minique Abina, Emmanuel Adornado, Ernest Raphael Ar­ceo, Joshua Balinas, Gian Daniel Berino, Michael Bunag, Christian And­re Catacutan, Louie Mar­tin Cesoiro, David De Layola, Emmanuel Rome Ysalakan Dela Cruz, Ryan Dimayuga, Lans Rawlin Donato, Sean Malachi Ene­ro, Roger Dante Giron, Jo­shua Klein Gulayan, James Peter Hernandez, Jeffrey Michael Hirao at Leo­nard Licudo.

Kabilang din sa kopo­nan sina Jan Vincent Llagu­no, Randy Llantino, Alfred Karl Maglabe, Namahig Asa Mahiwo, Michael Mar­tin, Christen Mercado, Jason Mirabueno, Samuel Gre­gory Ongjoco, Sean Ortega, Marvin Paralisan, Martin Pupos, Nathan Cheng, Raymund Sevilla, Ko­be Soguilon, Jux Solita, Jo­shua Casino, Guillermo Clemente IV, Christian Dimaculangan, Rogelio Frias, John Gurango, Joshua Junsay, Jose Lavina, Robi Mangilinan at Christopher Wong sa men’s division.

Lalarga naman sa wo­men’s sina Ma. Claire Ador­na, Priscila Aquino, Lei­chelle Buenaventura, Rome Corpuz, Celine Cu­sing, Gianna Data, Alic De­la Cruz, Annyka Dela Cruz, Princess Estal, Ma. Eliza Estrecho, Carmenrose Matabuena, Angelica Medrano, Jazmine Mirasol, Isabella Olivares, Trisha Oliveros, Jaymee Ortega, Andrea Pacheco at Julian Pupos.
