Maningning ang pagbubukas ng 17th Season ng NCAA-South

CALAMBA, Laguna, Philippines --Isang makulay na opening ceremonies ang itinampok ng host school na Letran-Calamba para sa pagbubukas ng 17th season ng National Collegiate Athletic Association-South kagabi dito.

Pinangunahan ni ManCom chairman Prof. Conrado M. Borromeo ang naturang seremonya kasama sina NCAA-South Policy Board members Rev. Fr. Honorato Castigador, O.P. (Letran-Calamba), Bro. Joaquin Martinez, FSS (La Salle-Lipa), Atty. Paulo Campos, Jr. (Emilio Aguinaldo College), Saturnino Belen (First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities), Dr. Peter Laurel (Lyceum-Batangas), Dr. Junifen Gauuan (Philippine  Christian University-Dasmariñas), Dom Clemente Ma Roque, OSB (San Beda-Alabang), Dr. Ma. Socorro Eala (San Pablo Colleges), Dr. Hernando Perez (University of Batangas), Dr. Arturo Orosco (St. Francis of Assisi College) at Dr. Ferdinand Somido (Perpetual Help-Laguna).

“Naiiba ang aming opening ceremonies dahil ito ang ikatlong pagkakataon na muling tatayong host ng NCAA-South ang Letran-Calamba, kaya naman pinaganda namin nang husto,” sabi ni Borromeo sa Knights na nangasiwa sa NCAA-South noong 2003 at 2006.

Nagsumite naman ng leave of absence ang Don Bosco-Mandaluyong ngunit inaasahan ni Borromeo na muling lalahok sa NCAA-South sa susunod na season.

Ang mga events na nakalatag ay ang basketball, volleyball, swimming, athletics, football, chess, beach volley, taekwondo, table tennis, badminton at lawn tennis.
