Zamora, PSL tankers hindi mapigilan sa Singapore meet

SINGAPORE – Nagpatuloy sa pagwasak ng mga dating record si Sean Terence Zamora, habang nakaisa rin si Kyla Soguilon para magpatuloy ang pagtatampisaw sa gintong medalya ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL) sa 2015 Singapore Invitational Swimming Championship dito sa Singapore Island Country Club.

Binago ng UST tanker na si Zamora ang mga dating marka na hawak ni Joseph Schooling sa 50-meter at 100m backstroke sa boys 14-15 para sa kanyang ikalawa at ikatlong record at mapalakas ang paghahangad na maging Most Outstanding Swimmer.

Nagtala si Zamora ng 29.97 sa  50m race, habang na­orasan ng 1:02.95 sa 100m na tumabon sa 29.48 at 1:04.52 na mga oras ni Schooling noong 2010.

Dalawang ginto pa ang nilangoy ni Soguilon at pina­tingkad niya ito sa pagtatala ng 1:16.78 marka sa girls’ 10-11 100m backstroke para palitan ang 1:17.44 na da­ting record ni Niece Damrongat ng Thailand noong 2010.

“It’s a great performance by our swimmers breaking re­cords of good swimmers like Schooling and Damro­ngat. Talagang napalaban nang husto ang mga bata natin lalo na sa mga Singaporeans na suportado ng ka­nilang gobyerno, pero hindi nagpapatalo ang mga lahok natin,” sabi ni PSL president Susan Papa.

May kabuuang 12 ginto na ang hinakot ng dele­gas­yon upang magkaroon na ng 22 ginto at kapusin na lamang ng walo para maabot ang target na 30 ginto sa pagtatapos ng kompetisyon.

Humakot pa ng dalawang ginto si Gianna Millen Data sa girls’ 16-17 50m breaststroke (40.53) at 100m butterfly (1:19.36), habang tig-isang ginto ang ambag nina Maxine Dalmacio sa girls’ 10-11 200m freestyle (2:52.36), Lee Grant Cabral sa boys’ 8-9 50m freestyle (36.20), Martin Jacob Pupos sa boys’ 16-17 100m butterfly (1:01.55), Nigel Timothy Romey sa boys’ 12-13 100m backstroke (1:13.75) at Charize Julian Esmero sa girls’ 12-13 100m backstroke (1:13.79).

Nagwagi rin sina Esmero, Aalia Jaire Espejo, Danica Mikaela Alba at Riandrea Chico sa girls’ 12-13 200m freestyle relay at sina Data, Esmerp, Sophia Castillo at Aubrey Ybanes sa girls’ 16-17 200m freestyle relay.

Ang mga nanalo ng silver medal ay sina Marc Bryan Dula (boys’ 8-9 100m backstroke), Marcus Faytaren (boys’ 14-15 200m freestyle), Isis Arnaldo (girls’ 10-11 50m breaststroke), Rio Lorenzo Malapitan (boys’ 12-13 50m breaststroke), Gian Nicole Nunez (girls’ 12-13 50m breaststroke), Stephen Guzman (boys’ 10-11 50m freestyle), Stephen Michael Abalos (boys’ 10-11 100m backstroke), Mark Daniel Marajucom (boys’ 12-13 100m backstroke), Ja­son Mirabueno (boys’ 16-17 100m butterfly), Ybanez (50m breaststroke), Romey (50m freestyle), Pupos (100m backstroke), sina Cabral, Dula,Joey Del Rosario at Robby Loy (boys’ 8-9 200m freestyle relay) sina Jasmine Mojdeh, Aubrey Tom, Janelle Blanch at Santien Santos (girls’ 8-9 200m freestyle relay), Arnaldo, Soguilon, Joanna Cervas at Tricia Princillo (girls’ 10-11 200m freestyle relay), Zamora, Faytaren, Paul Christian King Cusing at Ferdinand Ian Trinidad (boys’ 14-15 200m freestyle relay) at sina Mirabueno, Cusing, Pupos at Aron Romey (boys’ 16-17 200m freestyle).
