Stoudemire nilayasan ang Knicks, lumipat sa Mavs
DALLAS – Dahil sa pinapangarap na kauna-unahang NBA title, nagdesisyon si Amare Stoudemire na iwanan ang New York Knicks para maglaro sa Dallas Mavericks.
Ayon sa isang source, pumayag si Stoudemire na pumirma ng kontrata sa Mavericks matapos tumanggap ng buyout mula sa Knicks.
Binitawan ng Knicks ang 32-anyos na si Stoudemire noong Lunes matapos humiling ng buy out para sa natitira sa kanyang kontrata na magtatapos ngayong season.
“I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to contribute positively on the court and in the community,’’ sabi ni Stoudemire. “Although I leave the Knicks with a heavy heart, I wish the organization the best of luck. Once a Knicks always a Knicks.’’
Nagposte si Stoudemire ng mga averages na 17.3 points at 6.7 rebounds sa 255 laro sa loob ng limang seasons para sa Knicks kung saan niya naigiya ang New York sa tatlong playoffs stint.“
“His time here should be marked by recognizing his effort. It was 100 percent,’’ wika ni Phil Jackson, ang Knicks’ president of basketball operation, sa isang statement. ‘“As we move forward in structuring this team, we will look for players that exhibit his desire to win.’’

Si Stoudemire ang kamador ng Phoenix Suns bago pumirma ng five-year contract sa Knicks na nagkakahalaga ng $100 milyon noong 2010.
