MANILA, Philippines - Handang bumalik ang tinaguriang ‘Living Legend’ ng Philippine basketball na si Robert  ‘Sonny’ Jawors­ki, Sr. sa basketball kung kakailanganin ang kanyang serbisyo bilang coach ng national team.

Ito ang sinabi ni Jawors­ki na naging panauhin sa isinagawang ‘All In’ basketball charity event na kinatampukan ng dating NBA player Allen Iverson.

“It’s a great honor if it will happen,” wika ng 68-anyos na si Jaworski. “Yung sinabi n’yo lang eh nasarapan na ako.”

Naghahanap ngayon ng coach para sa Gilas Pilipinas matapos buwagin ang koponan.

Isang selection committee na bubuuin ng mga basketball stake holders ang pipili ng mga manlalaro at coach at hindi naman isinasara ang pintuan sa posibilidad na bumalik ang dating head coach na si Chot Reyes.

Pero puwede rin naman na tapikin si Jaworski, ang coach ng all-PBA selection na naglaro sa 1990 Beijing Asian Games at nanalo ng pilak na medalya.

“It’s going to be a tough job but I think, taking a serious look at it, it’s not a bad idea,” ani pa Jaworski, isang dating PBA MVP at kasama sa 25 Greatest Players of All Time.

Ang suporta ng lahat ng stake holders sa pangu­nguna ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) at publiko ang magpapagaan sa mabigat na trabahong haharapin sa iluluklok na coach ng Pambansang koponan.
