NLEX bibilhin ang Alaska?

MANILA, Philippines - Plano ng MPIC-NLEX na pumasok sa Philippine Basketball Association sa pamamagitan ng pagbili sa isa nitong prangkisa.

Ito ang inihayag ng PBA kahapon sa pamamagitan ng kanilang Twitter account.

Ayon kay PBA Commissioner Chito Salud, ang kahilingan ng MPIC-NLEX ay tatalakayin ng PBA Board of Governors.

“Applicant team MPIC-NLEX today informed the PBA Office of the Commissioner that it has decided to enter the league by acqui­ring an existing franchise, in lieu of entering the league as an expansion team,” sabi ng PBA sa kanilang Twitter.

 â€œThey noted that they are in the process of fina­lizing the acquisition of the current member-ballclub and will update the league as to further developments within a reasonable period after the last game of the member-team in the ongoing Governors’ Cup,” dagdag pa nito.

Kabilang sa prangkisang sinasabing balak bilhin ng MPIC-NLEX ay ang Alaska.

“While the identity of the franchise sought to be acquired was not disclosed, MPIC-NLEX understands that the intended acquisition would have to undergo another round of approval by the Board of Governors,” wika ng PBA.

Bukod sa MPIC-NLEX, ang dalawa pang expansion teams sa PBA ay ang Kia Motors at ang Blackwater.

Samantala, kung mananalo ang San Mig Coffee laban sa Rain or Shine sa kanilang laro kagabi ay makukuha ng Mixers ang No. 2 seat sa quarterfinals at mahuhulog ang Elasto Painters sa No. 3.

Lalabanan ng San Mig Coffee sa quarters ang No. 7 na Alaska, habang sasagupain ng  Rain or Shine ang No. 6 na Air21.

Ang Top Four teams ang hahawak ng ‘twice-to-beat’ advantage sa quarters.
