National boxers nagdomina sa PNG

MANILA, Philippines - Iniligpit ng mga mi­yembro ng national team ang kanilang mga karibal sa boxing event, habang isang kapangalan ni Joey De Leon ang naghari sa boccia event ng 2014 PSC National Games kahapon.

Inangkin nina lightweight Junel Cantancio, light welter Dennis Galvan, welterweight Joel Bacho at light heavy Wilfredo Lopez ang mga gintong medalya sa kani-kanilang dibisyon sa men’s boxing sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Dinaig ni Cantancio si Daryl Ramos; habang giniba ni Galvan si Richard Bacala; at tinalo ni Bacho si dating national player Orlando Tacuyan Jr.

Binigo naman ni Lopez ang kapatid ni Orlando na si Ronaldo Tacuyan.

Nangibabaw rin sa kanilang mga kategorya sina Guangzhouo Asian Games bronze meda­list Rey Saludar at Mario Fernandez sa flyweight at bantamweight division.

Dinomina ni Saludar si national team member Roldan Boncales Jr. at nangibabaw naman si Fernandez kay Jonas Bacho para sa gold medal.

Hindi naman nagpadaig sina world cham­pion at SEA Games gold medalist Josie Gabuco (flyweight), Maricris Igam (light flyweight), Irish Mag­no (bantamweight) at Lisa Pasuit (lightweight) sa wo­men’s class sa event.

Sa boccia event, inang­kin ni Joey De Leon ng Ma­rikina ang gintong medalya kasunod sina John Baltazar (Mandaluyong) at Anna Amezola (Quezon City).

Sa wushu, dalawang ginto ang ibinulsa ni natio­nal team member Thornton Quieney Lou Sayan matapos manalo sa men’s freestyle nangun at freestyle nanquan events.
