Sa Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship Komposisyon ng Phl team inihayag

MANILA, Philippines - Para palakasin ang kanilang kampanya sa darating na 2014 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship (AMCC) ay kumuha ang Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) ng dalawang Australian import.

Ipaparada ng Philippine team sina Cedric Legrand at William Robert Lewis na inaasahang makakatuwang nina actor/sportsman Richard Gomez, JP Torres, Ron Jay Galang, Jeffrey Malabanan at Alnakran Abdilla.

Sinabi ni national head coach Francis Vicente na ilang players mula sa UAAP at NCAA ang inaasahan nilang sasama sa kanilang tyrout sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum sa Vito Cruz, Manila.

“We are really scrutini­zing ‘yong composition ng team,” wika ni Vicente.

Nakatakda ang 2014 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship sa Abril 8-16 sa tatlong magkakahiwalay na venues tampok ang kabuuang 18 koponan.

“Napakalaking challenge ito para sa akin considering na hindi na ako 22 years old,” pagbibiro ni Gomez, naging miyembro ng national team ng rowing, fencing at shooting at lumaban sa Southeast Asian Games at Asian Games.

Ang maghahari sa torneo ang kakatawan sa Asya para sa 2014 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Volleyball World Championship sa Betim, Brazil sa Mayo.

Kasama ng Pilipinas sa Group A ang Iraq, Kuwait at Mongolia, habang nasa Group B ang Iran, Japan, Lebanon at Vietnam at kabilang sa Group C ang Qatar, Kazakhstan, Oman, Hong Kong at Turkmenistan.

Ang China ay nasa Group D kasama ang Uni­ted Arab Emirates, India, Papua New Guinea at Chinese Taipei.
