PSL tankers sumisid ng 18 ginto sa Africa

CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- Limang gintong medalya ang idinagdag ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL), ang apat dito ay mula kay McTracy Alindogan, sa pagtatapos ng 2014 Western Province Aquatics (WPA) Swimming Gala sa University of Western Cape (UWC) Aquatics Center.

Winalis ni Alindogan, ang 2013 Swimmer of the Year, ang natitirang apat na events - ang 200m breaststroke, 200m individual medley, 50m backstroke at ang 100m breaststroke - sa boys’ 13 years sa huling araw ng labanan para hirangin bilang swimmer na may pinakamaraming gold medal na nakamit sa torneo.

Kabuuang walong ginto at dalawang pilak na medalya ang nilangoy ng 13-anyos na Angeles University Foundation Grade 7 student.

Nauna niyang dinomina ang 50m butterfly, 200m backstroke, 400m individual medley at ang 50m freestyle.

Pumangalawa naman siya sa 100m backstroke at sa 50m breaststroke.

Ang pinakahuling gold medal ay nanggaling kay University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 76 Most Valuable Player Denjylie Cordero ng University of the Philippines matapos mamayagpag sa girls’ 17-over 100m breaststroke.

Humakot si Cordero ng kabuuang apat na ginto, kabilang ang 50m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke at 200m individual medley.

Sa kabuuan, humakot ang bansa ng 18 golds, 11 silvers at 6 bronzes sa torneong nilahukan ng halos 400 swimmers mula sa 31 koponan sa rehiyon.
