FESSAP giilang sakop sa FISU

CEBU, Philippines -  Gikompirmar sa International University Sports Federation  kon FISU nga ang Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP)  usa na nila ka lehitimong sakop ug maoy bugtong nilang university sports federation gikan sa Pilipinas.

 Sa  suwat nga gipadala ngadto sa FESSAP nga  pinitsahan og Enero 8, 2014, ang FISU headquarters didto sa Lausanne, Switzerland pinaagi sa ilang secretary general/chief executive officer nga si Eric Saintrond nagkanayon:

 "We would like to inform you that the FISU Executive Committee officially met in Trento (ITA) on 8 and 9 December 2013 and decided to confirm the membership of the FESSAP as FISU Member Association. FISU therefore officially recognizes the FESSAP as the sole representative of university sports in the Philippines."

 Tungod niini, hingpit na sab nga gisalibay sa FISU ang tinguha sa University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) nga mahimong sakop.   Ang UAAP aduna lamang walo ka sakop sa Metro Manila nga buot mopuli sa FESSAP nga adunay kapin sa 100 ka sports associations.

 "This is a vindication for FESSAP and we are happy that the FISU Ex-com saw the light and confirmed our membership in the FISU. For that, the FESSAP is grateful,"  sumala pa ni FESSAP legal representative/adviser lawyer Ma. Luz Arzaga-Mendoza.

 "In its request for membership during the FISU General Assembly at the Korston Hotel in Kazan, Russian Federation from July 3-4, the UAAP claimed in its position paper that it owned the oldest university sports association in the Philippines since 1924." "On the contrary, it is the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) that is the oldest sports association in the country (since 1924)," dugang pa ni Atty. Mendoza.

 Ang presidente sa FESSAP nga si David Ong nalipay sa maong pahibalo sa FISU.

 "I am happy that the FISU Executive Committee made the right decision to confirm FESSAP's membership in the FISU," matud pang Ong. (BANAT NEWS)
