Pinoy pugs susuntok sa 3 int’l tourney

MANILA, Philippines - Bilang preparasyon sa AIBA World Championship sa Almaty, Kazakhstan sa Oktubre ay tatlong mala­laking international bo­xing tournaments ang lalahukan ng PLDT-ABAP Na­tional team ngayong Set­yembre.

Bumiyahe na kaha­pon sina Jason Daming (46kgs), Hipolito Banal Jr. (48kgs), Paul Gilbert Galagnao (52kgs) at Mike Angelo Plania (54kgs) sa Kiev, Ukraine para sumabak sa AIBA 15 & 16 World Juniors Championships.

Sa nasabing torneo na­nalo ng gold si  Eumir Felix Marcial sa light bantamweight class noong 2011 sa Astana, Kazakhs­tan.

Ang grupo ay sinamahan nina ABAP executive director Ed Picson at coaches Ronald Chavez at Romeo Brin.

Sasabak naman ang bansa sa Sydney Jackson Memorial Boxing Tournament sa Setyembre 11-17 sa Tashkent, Uzbekistan at kakatawanin nina Rogen Ladon (49kgs), Ian Clark Bautista (52kgs), Jonas Bacho (56kgs), James Palicte (60kgs) at reserves Roldan Bongcales Jr. (52kgs) at Junel Cantancio (60kgs).

Makakasama nila sina coaches Elmer Pamisa at Pat Gaspi.

Inangkin ni Olympian Mark Anthony Barriga ang gold sa light flyweight division sa natu­rang torneo noong 2011-12.

Lalahok ang ABAP sa AIBA Women’s Youth and Junior Championships sa Setyembre 20-29 sa Albena, Bulgaria.

Ang koponan ay binu­buo nina Jenie Mirana (44-46kgs) at Aira Villegas (44-48kgs) kasama sina coaches Roel Velasco at Mitchel Martinez. Nakatakda ang World Championship sa Oktubre 11-27.
