VADA tinapik ng Top Rank para sa drug test nina Pacquiao-Rios

MANILA, Philippines - Ang Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) ang siyang kinuha ng Top Rank Promotions para sa random drug testing kina Manny Pacquiao at Brandon ‘Bam Bam’ Rios.

Nagkasundo sina Pacquiao at Rios na sumailalim sa nasabing random drug testing sa VADA para sa kanilang laban sa Nobyembre.

“There’s no commission over there in China which has any experience with this kind of testing, where the Nevada Commission has an established commission,” sabi ni Top Rank CEO Bob Arum.

“This commission over there is from China, and so forth, and it wouldn’t work for them to do it with a fighter training in the Philippines and one in the United States. In this situation, we feel more comfortable using an organization like VADA,” dagdag pa ng 81-anyos na promoter.

Ito ang ikatlong pagkakataon na gagamitin ng Top Rank ang VADA para sa isang laban matapos ang banggaan nina Timothy Bradley, Jr. at Ruslan Provodnikov at ang salpukan nina Guillermo Rigondeaux at Nonito Donaire, Jr.

Magsasagupa sina Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KOs) at Rios (31-1-1, 23 KOs) sa isang non-title, welterweight fight sa Nobyembre 23 (Nobyembre 24 sa US) sa The Venetian sa Macau, China.

Sisimulan ng Top Rank ang promotional tour para sa laban nina Pacquiao at Rios sa huling linggo ng Hulyo sa tatlong siyudad sa China.
