South Africans skaters nagparamdam agad

MANILA, Philippines - Ginawang playground nina Matthew at Abigail Samuels ng South Africa ang SM Ice Skating Rink matapos walisin ang una sa apat na events ng ISU World Development Trophy 2013 kahapon sa Mall of Asia.

Inangkin ni Matthew, isang four-time national champion ng South Africa, ang kanyang unang international medal nang dominahin ang Basic Novice B Boys Free Skating competition.

Pinamahalaan naman ng kanyang ka­patid na si Abigail ang Basic Novice A Girls Free Skating side.

Nagwagi din sa kani-kanilang mga events sina South Africans Amber Britz (Basic Novice B Girls Free Skating) at Evan Wrensch (Basic Novice A Boys Free Skating).

Ipinakita ng 15-anyos na si Matthew ang kanyang husay sa City Slicers/Cowboy routine para makakuha ng 42.87 points mula sa mga international judges at angkinin ang titulo laban kina Singaporean Chadwick Wang (31.80) at Malaysian Nicholas Zhi Ming Tan (31.28).

“I had a very good performance, I skated the best I could,” sabi ni Matthew na nakasuot ng Cowboy outfit.
