Stockinger nagbigay ng karangalan sa Pinas sa kasaysayan ng Formula 1 racing

MANILA, Philippines - Naiangat ni Formula race-car driver Marlon Stockinger ang sarili sa international motorsports nang italaga siya bilang isang Junior Driver sa prestihiyosong Lotus F1 team.

Naabot  ito ng Filipino-Swiss matapos manalo sa GP3 Series na ginawa noong nakaraang taon sa Monaco.

Si Stockinger ang na­tatanging Pinoy sa kopo­nan na binubuo din nina Marco Sorensen ng Denmark, Alex Fontana ng Switzerland, Oscar Tunjo ng Colombia, Esteban Ocon at Dorian Baccolacci ng France at Alexander Albon ng Thailand.

“It’s a great feeling to be associated with such a prestigious team. If you look back through the years as Benetton and Renault, you can see that this team knows how to win championships, so to be surrounded by that heritage is a big honour for me,” wika ni Stockinger.

Sinabi naman ni Lotus F1 Team Principal Eric Boullier na nagagalak sila sa pagkakakuha sa 21-anyos na si Stockinger dahil nais ng koponan na makatulong na hubugin ang careers ng mga batang Formula race-car drivers.

“Motorsport can be very daunting for young drivers, particularly everything that occurs away from the track, so we hope to give our drivers the best preparation possible for their future careers,” pahayag ni Boullier.

Darating sa bansa si Stockinger kasama ang mga kakampi sa Lotus F1 para bigyan ng kasiyahan ang mga Pinoy na mahihilig sa motorsports.

Isang Formula 1 car ang dadalhin din at iikot ito sa kalye sa Manila mula Mayo 3 hanggang 5 at si Stockinger ang siyang magmamaneho nito.

Ang karanasang makukuha ni Stockinger ay tiyak na makakatulong para lalo itong humusay at umani pa ng karangalan sa Pilipinas.
