Pacquiao tutol sa pagbabalik ni Hatton
MANILA, Philippines - Isang payong kapatid ni Manny Pacquiao para sa dati niyang pinagretirong si Ricky Hatton.
Sinabi kahapon ni Pacquiao na hindi na dapat lumaban si Hatton, sasagupa kay Vyacheslav Senchenko ng Ukraine bukas sa isang welterweight fight sa Manchester Arena sa United Kingdom.
“I do not think it is a good idea to comeback once a fighter has retired,” sabi ng Filipino world eight-division champion sa panayam ng Daily Express.
Pinagretiro ni Pacquiao si Hatton matapos itong patulugin sa second round sa kanilang light welterweight championship fight noong Mayo ng 2009.
At matapos ang tatlo at kalahating taon na pagreretiro sapul nang mapabagsak ng 33-anyos na si Pacquiao, magbabalik ang 34-anyos na Englishman sa ibabaw ng boxing ring katapat si Senchenko.
“I want my family, fans and community to be proud of me and not remember me for the Pacquiao loss and all the bad stuff that has happened to me in the last three years,” sabi ni Hatton.
Sinabi naman ni Pacquiao na iiwanan niya ang boksing na isang kampeon.
“It’s not something I plan on doing. I know how hard it is to get back into good boxing shape after being out of the training camp for only three or four months,” ani Pacquiao.
“I cannot imagine what it is like after a number of years. It’s not just the conditioning; it’s the reflexes, legs, mental conditioning, and so much more. But this is Ricky’s decision to make and I respect him for it,” dagdag pa ng Sarangani Congressman.
