ETC, Prima bets nagpasiklab agad sa PBaRS tourney

MANILA, Philippines - Maagang nagpasikat ang mga manlalaro mula Escoses Training Camp at Team Prima sa boys’ U-19 division sa MVP Sports Foundation-Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PbaRS) Makati Leg kaha­pon sa Powersmash sa Makati City.

Si Leo Orsolino ay na­nalo kay Lawrence Batalla, 21-11, 21-3; si Joseph Cepada ay nangibabaw kay Froese Tamarra, 21-13, 21-19; si Christian Boro ay nanaig kay Randy Hendriyanto, 21-12, 21-13; at si Shawn Sangalang ay pinagpahinga si Tyrell Babuelo, 21-13, 21-18, para pangunahan ang ETC.

Ang Team Prima ay sumandal naman sa husay nina Nepthali Pineda; Dennis Caguicla, Jimbo Flores, at Sean Chan na tinalo sina Victor Sotto (21-10, 21-11), Jeffrey Iquina (11-21, 21-13, 21-18), Mark Espinoza (21-13, 15-21, 21-16) at Rafael Dionisio (21-13, 17-21, 21-15), ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Limang araw ang tor­neo na inorganisa ng Philippine Badminton Association sa pangunguna ni Vice President Jejomar Binay at sec-gen Rep. Albee Benitez at suportado ni chairman at sports patron Manny V. Pangilinan.

Bukod sa U-19, pag­lalabanan din sa torneo ang Open, boys’ at girls’ U-15 singles at doubles at mixed doubles.

Nasa 700 ang bilang ng mga manlalarong magsusukatan sa kompetisyong may basbas din ng POC at PSC bukod pa sa suporta mula sa PBA Party­list (Pwer­sa ng Bayaning Atleta), Gatorade, Badminton Extreme Philippine Magazine, Victor Pcome Industrial Sales Inc. at Vineza Industrial Sales.
