Letran pinalakas ang laban para sa Final Four

MANILA, Philippines – Mula sa mainit nilang opensiba sa first period, hindi na nilingon pa ng Letran College ang Lyceum upang iposte ang 76-60 panalo at palakasin ang kanilang tsansa sa Final Four ng 88th NCAA men’s basketball tournament kahapon sa The Arena sa San Juan City.

Umiskor si Kevin Alas ng 30 points, ang 10 dito ay kanyang hinugot sa first quarter kung saan iniwan ng Knights ang Pirates, 17-10, patungo sa pagtatala ng isang 18-point advantage, 38-20, sa halftime.

Itinaas ng Letran ang kanilang kartada sa 7-6 sa ilalim ng San Beda College (10-2), San Sebastian College (10-3), Perpetual Help (8-4) at Jose Rizal (8-4) kasunod ang Mapua (5-7), Arellano (4-8), Emilio Aguinaldo College (4-8), St. Benilde (4-9) at Lyceum (2-11).

Sa high school division, giniba ng Letran Squires (-3) ang Lyceum Junior Pirates (0-13), 110-29 habang pinayukod naman ng Mapua Red Robins (8-4) ang Arellano Junior Chiefs (5-8), 79-69.
