Bartolome Jr., kampeon sa 2nd Ebdane Offroad Challenge

SAN FELIPE, Zambales, Philippines --Inangkin ni Noel Bartolome Jr. ang overall crown ng 2nd Gov. Jun Ebdane 4x4 Offroad Challenge sa Barangay Sindol noong Linggo.

Hinarap ng 25-anyos na si Bartolome ang hamon sa sand-and-mud Tracks A at B at dinomina ang Track C para hira­nging kampeon ng event na inorganisa ni Zambales Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. sa ikalawang sunod na taon.

“I am very proud of this victory, I wasn’t expecting much to dominate here,” wika ni Bartolome, tinalo rin ang kanyang amang si Noel Sr. Sila ang kumatawan sa Land Rover Club of the Philippines.

“We had aimed both at entertaining the local and tourist spectators, and provide a much-needed boost to our local tourism industry. And we achieved both. Congratulations to the organizers and everyone behind this project. And congratulations of course to all the racers--winners or losers,” ani Ebdane.

Sumegunda si Bartolome sa Track B sa eliminations mula sa kanyang qualifying time na 21 minuto at 38.16 segundo.

Sa Track A ay naglista si Bartolome ng best time na 6:49.85. Siya ay nagposte ng kabuuang 28:28.01 para sa naturang dalawang tracks, pangalawa kay Pampanga Offroaders Club bet John Sambo (11:07.04, 5:08.29 at 16:16.13 total) at sa unahan ni Angeles City 4 Wheel Drive Club’s Arthur Sicat (14:12.62, 15:49.87 at 30:02.49 total).

Sa Track C ay tinalo ni Bartolome ang mga qualifiers sa kanyang pinakamabilis na oras na 6:16.22.

Sa pinagsamang oras niya sa Tracks A at B pati na sa finals, nagtala si Bartolome ng 34:44.23 kasunod sina Sicat (46:57.12) at Sambo (52:16.13).
