LONDON--Sa first half ay tila nagkaroon ng prob­lema ang US Olympic men’s basketball team sa pamamahala ng mga re­ferees kumpara sa France.

“There were calls being called that didn’t seem right,” sabi ni forward Carmelo Anthony. “One time down the floor they called it this way, and one time they called it that way.”

Ngunit nalampasan ito ng mga Americans para talunin ang France, 98-71, sa kanilang tournament opener.

Umiskor si Kevin Durant ng 22 points sa kanyang Olympic debut, habang nagdagdag naman ng 14 si Kevin Love at 10 si Kobe Bryant at humakot si LeBron James ng 9 points, five rebounds at 8 assists.

Tumipa si Ali Traore ng 12 points kasunod ang 10 ni Parker para sa France.

Nagposte naman si Luis Scola ng 32 points upang igiya ang Argentina sa 102-79 panalo kontra sa Lithuania.

Nagdagdag si Carlos Delfino ng 20 points para sa Argentines.
