Donaire maagang magpapakondisyon para kay Arce

MANILA, Philippines - Matapos ang maikling bakasyon sa Pilipinas ay sisimulan na nina unified world super bantamweight champion Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire, Jr. at Mexican trainer Robert Garcia ang kanilang pag-eensayo sa Agosto.

Ito ay bilang preparas­yon ni Donaire laban kay Mexican four-division titlist Jorge Arce sa Oktubre sa Staples Center sa Los Angeles, California.

“We have to look at the previous fights of Arce and develop some strategy,” wika ni Garcia kay Donaire, nakatakdang dumating sa bansa para magbakasyon sa Maynila at gumawa ng isang Visayan film na ipo-produce ng pamilya ni actor Matt Ranillo III.

Kasalukuyang bitbit ng 29-anyos na si Donaire ang kanyang 29-1-0 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 18 KOs, habang dala ng 32-anyos na si Jorge ang kanyang 60-6-2 (46 KOs) card.

Nanggaling si Donaire sa isang unanimous decision win kontra kay Jeffrey Mathebula noong Hulyo 7 sa Carson, California para mapanatiling suot ang kanyang World Bo­xing Organization (WBO) super bantamweight crown kasabay ng pag-agaw sa International Boxing Fe­de­ration (IBF) title ng South African.

“He trained really well, that is why he won against Mathebula,” wika ni Garcia kay Donaire. “He has built up a lot of muscle and put up a really good performance against Mathebula.”

Sakaling manalo kay Arce ay plano na ni Donaire na umakyat sa featherweight division.

Matapos ang kanilang pagdating sa Maynila ay bibiyahe naman sina Donaire at Rachel sa Japan kung saan sila mananatili ng tatlong araw.
