MANILA, Philippines - Anim na taon matapos ang dalawang beses na paghaharap nila ni Mexican Omar Niño Romero ay malaki na ang ipinagbago ni Brian ‘The Hawaiian Punch’ Viloria.
Inangkin ni Viloria ang World Boxing Organization (WBO) flyweight crown matapos biguin si Giovani Segura via eight-round TKO noong Disyembre 11, 2011 sa Yñares Sports Arena sa Pasig City.
Itataya ni Viloria ang naturang titulo laban kay Romero bukas sa nasabi ring venue.
“It’s going to be a great fight, it’s going to be a good fight. Brian has turned into a great champion. He really perfected his craft and you have seen that in his previous fight against Segura,” ani Romero kay Viloria, dati nang nagkampeon sa light flyweight division ng WBC at International Boxing Federation (IBF).
Bitbit ng 31-anyos na si Viloria ang kanyang 30-3-0 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 17 KOs kumpara sa 30-4-2 (12 KOs) slate ng 35-anyos na si Romero.
Natalo si Romero kay Gilberto Keb Baas via majority decision para sa World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight title noong Nobyembre 6, 2010.
