Chiz magbibigay ng P5M sa PH chess
MANILA, Philippines - Nakahanda si Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero na magbigay ng P5 milyon para tulungan ang grassroots program ng National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).
Ginawa ni Escudero ang kanyang pangako sa opening ceremony ng 2012 National Age Group and National Juniors Chess Championships sa Event Center sa Tanauan, Batangas.
“The support of Chiz is a welcome development in chess,” sabi ni NCFP chairman/president Prospero “Butch” Pichay, Jr. “It will be a big boost in our programs especially for the youth and our players in the countryside.”
Sinabi pa ni Pichay na ang suporta ni Escudero ay makakatulong sa kanilang paghahanap sa susunod na “Chiz wizard in the Philippines.”
Isa na rito si FIDE Master Haridas Pascua ng Pangasinan na tumalo kay Tristan Frech Ibaoc ng Cagayan De Oro para makuha ang solo lead sa junior boys division mula sa kanyang 3.0 points.
Wala pa ring talo sina FM Paulo Bersamina ng Pasay at Vince Angelo Medina ng Cavite sa nasabing round-robin tournament.
