MANILA, Philippines - Kumpiyansa si Timothy Bradley, Jr. na siya ang mapipili para makalaban ni Manny Pacquiao bilang kapalit ni Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
“I think Manny Pacquiao and myself would be a great fight,” sabi ni Bradley, ang kasalukuyang World Boxing Organization (WBO) light welterweight titlist. “I would definitely get in the ring with him and would like to see what I could do against a guy like him.”
Naantala ang pinaplantsang super bout nina Pacquiao at Mayweather makaraang masentensyahan ang American boxer ng 90 araw na pagkakakulong sa Las Vegas, Nevada bunga ng domestic violence case.
Kasalukuyang bitbit ni Pacquiao ang 53-3-2 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 38 KOs kumpara kina Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs), Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6-1, 39 KOs), Lamont Peterson (30-1-1, 15 KOs), Miguel Cotto (37-2-0, 30 KOs) at Bradley (28-0-0, 12 KOs).
“I love to mix it up. Going to the body is one thing I love to do. I love to brawl even though I started my career as a pure boxer,” ani Bradley. “I was moving and dancing around and looking cute until my trainer taught me to become a hunter. Now I love to bang.”
Lumaban si Bradley sa undercard ng laban ni Pacquiao kay Marquez noong Nobyembre 13 kung saan niya tinalo si Cuban Joel Casamayor via 8th round technical knockout.
Binigo ng 33-anyos na si Pacquiao sa ikalawang sunod na pagkakataon ang 38-anyos na si Marquez sa pamamagitan ng kontrobersyal na majority decision sa kanilang ‘trilogy’ sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sinabi naman ni Atty. Franklin Gacal, ang legal adviser ni Pacquiao, malaki ang tsansa ni Bradley na mapili ni Pacquiao.
“Siguro lalamang si Bradley,” ani Gacal. “Kay Congressman Manny wala naman problema kahit sino, pero para sa akin siguro, eh nasubukan na ‘yung dalawang kalaban (Cotto at Marquez), eh di ‘yung dalawang (Bradley at Peterson) iba naman.”
